Machine Installation Logistics: Cranes, Floors and Doors

The practical side of CNC delivery: machine weights, door widths, floor loading, crane access and the site preparation that prevents costly delays.

More commissioning delays start at the front door than at the control. A machine that lifts cleanly from the truck can still fail to make a corner, sit over a weak floor slab, or wait days for a crane slot. Installation logistics deserve engineering attention weeks before delivery.

The Site Checklist

  • Route survey: doors, corridors, turns and lift heights measured against crate size.
  • Floor loading: point loads from leveling pads checked against slab capacity.
  • Lifting: crane capacity, rigging points and certified slings arranged.
  • Utilities: power quality, compressed air and coolant disposal ready before arrival.
  • Anchor plan: foundation bolts and epoxy specified for the machine mass.

Large gantry machines need the floor prepared before arrival; retrofitting anchors into finished slabs costs far more. For high-bay workshops, confirm the crane hook height clears the machine in crate plus rigging.

We provide installation drawings, weights and rigging points with every quotation, and our engineers supervise anchoring and leveling on site.
