What Happens in a 48-Hour Machine Run-Off Test
A look inside the pre-delivery run-off test: machining real parts for two days, logging geometry, temperature and surface finish before shipping.
Before any machine leaves our factory it must cut for two days continuously. The run-off test is deliberately boring: real material, real tooling, cycle after cycle, while instruments record what the machine does under sustained load.
What the Test Covers
- Ballbar and laser geometry checks before and after thermal soak.
- Continuous cutting of customer-representative parts where supplied.
- Spindle temperature, vibration and growth logged every cycle.
- ATC cycled hundreds of times with the customer tool list.
- Surface finish measured on finished test pieces.
Thermal drift is the quiet enemy. A machine that tests perfectly cold may drift by ten microns after four hours of cutting. The run-off exposes that early, and compensation values are set while the machine is hot, the way it will actually work.
Buyers are welcome to attend the run-off in person or by video call, and every log sheet ships with the machine.
