Pre-Delivery Checks: What We Verify Before Crating

The final pre-delivery routine on a CNC machine: fluids, fasteners, firmware, footage of tests and the packing steps that survive ocean freight.

The last three days before crating decide how commissioning week goes. A machine that leaves the factory checked, dry, anchored and documented arrives as a tool. One that leaves half-checked arrives as a project.

Our Pre-Crating Routine

  • Full function check: every axis, ATC pocket, coolant, lubrication and alarm path.
  • Spindle run-in completed and recorded.
  • Fluids drained or stabilised for sea transport, batteries disconnected per carrier rules.
  • Spindle, table and rotary axes blocked against transit shock.
  • Photos of packing, fixing points and the sealed crate shared with the buyer.

Ocean freight is rough. Containers swing, decks vibrate and terminals stack. Good crating with proper blocking turns that into a non-event; poor crating turns it into a realigned machine and a claim. We pack to survive the worst lane, not the best.

Ask any supplier what their pre-crating checklist covers. If the answer is short, budget extra time for commissioning.
