VH-855 Vertical Machining Center with Built-In CAD/CAM Programming
The VH-855 vertical machining center ships with a standard CAD/CAM programming system, a 10000 rpm BBT40 spindle plus a 24-tool magazine.
The VH-855 is the entry model of VITOP Machinery's VH series, positioned for high-precision finishing work. What sets it apart on paper is that a CAD/CAM programming system comes as standard, so operators can program at the machine instead of waiting for a seat at the office workstation. Here is how the rest of the specification supports that role.
Spindle and Motion Specifications
Travels are 800 x 550 x 550 mm on a 550 x 1000 mm table rated for 500 kg. The spindle is a BBT40-Φ150 unit: standard configuration runs 10000 rpm from a belt drive, with a 12000 rpm direct-drive option if your work leans toward smaller tools and finer finishes. Rated torque is 52.5 N.m at 11 kW, a healthy margin for steel mould plates and general parts machining.
Rapid traverse is 24 m/min on all three axes with ball screws of 4016 specification, and the cutting feed range reaches 15000 mm/min. Guideways are roller type, 35 on X and 45 on Y and Z, which keeps friction low and positioning consistent over long shifts.

Why the CAD/CAM System Matters
For a small shop, programming at the control shortens the loop from drawing to first cut. A setter can import a model, build toolpaths and prove them out without walking to another computer, which matters when you run many short jobs a day. It also helps when hiring: a new operator can learn one environment instead of juggling offline CAM licences and post processors.
Accuracy and Repeatability
Positioning accuracy is ±0.003/300 mm with ±0.002/300 mm repeatability. On mould inserts, electrode pockets and fixture components, repeatability is the number that matters most, because it decides whether a re-run part lands in the same place as the first. The BBT40 spindle face also improves tool holder contact compared with a plain BT40 taper, which helps rigidity at the cutting edge.
Typical Applications
- Mould plates, inserts and cores in P20-type steels
- Precision brackets, housings and small batches of multi-process parts
- Fixture and jig manufacture for the rest of the shop
- Secondary finishing after heavy roughing on a larger machine
Footprint and Utilities
The machine occupies roughly 2600 x 2600 x 2300 mm and weighs about 5300 kg, so it fits a standard bay without special foundations. Total electrical capacity is 25 KVA and the coolant tank holds 200 L. If your largest parts stay under about 750 mm square and under 500 kg, the VH-855 covers them with sensible clearance for vises and fixtures.
Running and Maintaining the Machine
Day-to-day care on a machine of this class is straightforward but non-negotiable. Check spindle taper cleanliness at every tool change session, because a single chip on the BBT40 flange will pull accuracy out of the machine for the rest of the shift. Top up way lube daily and confirm the lubrication alarm works before your setter relies on it. The 200 L coolant tank should be skimmed and concentrated weekly; in hot, humid climates coolant degrades faster and smells arrive before corrosion does.
On power, plan a stable 25 KVA supply and consider a stabiliser if your grid fluctuates, since servo drives on any VMC will fault on brownouts. Keep a log of positioning checks with a ballbar or dial test indicator every few months; catching a guideway problem early costs a weekend, not a rebuild.
