G Series Vertical Machining Center: Precision Mould and Parts Work
The VITOP G Series vertical machining center offers four models (VMC-850G to VMC-1268G) with BBT40 spindles to 15000 rpm and +/-0.003/300 mm positioning for precision work.
The G Series is VITOP's precision vertical machining center line for mould and parts machining, with four models from the VMC-850G to the VMC-1268G. Where the economical series trades configuration for price, the G Series is specified for accuracy-critical work: BBT40 spindles, positioning accuracy of ±0.003/300 mm, and spindle speeds up to 15000 rpm.

The BBT40 Spindle Is the Point
Standard BT40 tapers rely on the flange face and taper contact alone, which leaves repeatability on the table at high speed. The BBT40 interface adds face contact between spindle nose and holder flange, so tool runout and Z-height repeatability improve - and in mould work, where a few microns of runout show up as witness lines on a polished cavity, that is the difference that matters.
Speed options follow the job: belt-driven 8000 or 10000 rpm for general steel and cast iron work, or direct-drive 12000 and 15000 rpm for hard milling, graphite electrodes and smaller cutters in aluminium. With an 11 kW motor, the direct configurations keep enough torque for real metal removal, not just light finishing.
Accuracy You Can Verify
The ±0.003/300 mm positioning figure is backed by VITOP's standard build process: HT300 resin-sand castings with double ageing, hand-scraped matched guideways, and laser interferometry plus ballbar testing on every machine before shipment. Ask for the test report of the actual machine with your order - we provide it as routine documentation.
Choosing a Model
- VMC-850G class - the mould shop workhorse; a 500 x 1000 mm table covers most cavity and core plates
- Larger models to the VMC-1268G - for longer mould bases, bigger fixture plates and multi-part setups, with table load up to 1200 kg
Match the envelope to your largest part plus 20-30% clearance for fixtures and tool swing. If most of your work is finishing at high speed, specify the direct-drive spindle; if you rough steel daily, the belt option with its robust duty cycle may serve better.
Typical Applications
- Precision mould cavities, cores and sliders in hardened steel
- Connector, jig and fixture machining where hole-to-hole accuracy matters
- High-mix precision parts with tight flatness and position tolerances
Send your drawings and tolerance requirements to VITOP Machinery and we will confirm the model and spindle configuration that suits your work.
G Series in Context
The G Series sits above the economical E Series in the VITOP line-up and below the high-speed and 5-axis machines, which makes it a natural upgrade path when your accuracy requirements move past general machining. If your parts are precision mould work today and may become complex-surface work tomorrow, staying within one supplier's ecosystem simplifies fixtures, tooling standards and operator training. VITOP Machinery has over thirteen years of machine building on a 30000 m² site where castings are poured, aged, machined, assembled and inspected under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified systems. Full OEM and ODM support covers spindle speed options, control preferences and non-standard configurations, so the four-model series can be matched to your shop rather than the other way round. Request the laser interferometry and ballbar report with any quotation so you compare verified numbers, not brochure claims.
