How Custom Mould Equipment Is Built to Order
OEM and ODM mould machines are built to order, not pulled off a shelf: the steps that take your die drawings through to a configured machine.
Most die shops do not need a catalogue machine - they need one configured around the dies they cut. That is the OEM / ODM side of our business: machines built to order, from travels and spindle options to controls and branding. Buyers sometimes ask what custom actually involves, so here is the process from first message to running machine.
Step one: your parts, not a catalogue
We start with what you cut: maximum die block sizes and weights, the steels you machine, wall depths, the finish passes that drive your delivery times. Three numbers often decide the configuration - the longest die base you need to finish in one setup, the deepest pocket you cut, and the heaviest workpiece on the table.
Step two: the configuration proposal
From those numbers we propose the machine class and options: travels, head type, spindle power and speed range, guideway construction, coolant and chip handling, right-angle heads (heavy-duty, extended or custom), 4th axis, chip conveyor, control brand. Each option is tied to a reason from your parts list, so you can accept or cut the list with full information.
Step three: build on a verified base
Custom changes do not mean improvised quality. The machine is still built on HT300 double-aged castings, scraped and matched guideways, and the same assembly discipline as our standard models. Custom features - special heads, extended travels, control adaptations, customer branding - are engineered into that base rather than bolted around it.
Step four: test with your conditions
Before shipment the machine runs laser interferometry and ballbar testing as standard. For custom machines we also run the spindle under loads matching your typical cuts and, where agreed, perform a test cut. Voltage and power are configured to your factory's supply - 380 V/50 Hz, 440 V/60 Hz or others - so commissioning at your end is not a surprise.
Step five: packing, shipping and support
Machines are packed for sea freight with moisture protection, and we prepare export documents to your market. After installation, support continues with manuals, spares and engineers who know the machine because they configured it.
