Vertical Machining Center Lineup: Mould, 3C, General Work

The VITOP vertical machining center series explained: E, G, L, T, VH, gantry-type YBM, double-magazine models for mould, 3C, batch part machining.

Vertical machining centers account for roughly 67% of vertical CNC machine sales in Southeast Asia, so it is no surprise that buyers spend the most time comparing this category. VITOP Machinery builds seven VMC lines, and each targets a different kind of work. This guide maps the lineup so you can shortlist faster.

E Series: The Economical All-Rounder

Ten models from the VMC-855E to the VMC-1580E cover the workhorse segment, built with linear roller guides for high rigidity. The entry VMC-855E shows the recipe: 800 x 550 x 550 mm travels, a 550 x 1000 mm table with 500 kg load, BT40-Φ150 spindle at belt-driven 8000 or 10000 rpm with direct 12000/15000 rpm optional, 11 kW motor, 24-tool magazine with 3.5 second tool changes, and ±0.003/300 mm positioning accuracy. X/Y/Z rapids reach 36/36/36 m/min. For batch machining of complex multi-process parts at a sensible budget, start here.

G Series: Precision Mould and Parts

Four models from the VMC-850G to the VMC-1268G target precision mould and parts work. Spindles are BBT40-Φ150 or BBT40-Φ160, belt-driven at 8000/10000 rpm or direct connection at 12000/15000 rpm. The VMC-850G pairs 800 x 500 x 600 mm travels with roller guides on all three axes and a 15000 mm/min cutting feed, holding ±0.003/300 mm positioning accuracy. The BBT40 interface gives better grip and rigidity at the holder, which shows up in surface finish on mould cavities.

L Series: Extended Travels and Heavy Cutting

Fourteen models from the VMC-850L to the VMC-S20L stretch the envelope: X travel from 800 up to 2000 mm, Y from 500 to 900 mm, tables up to 900 x 2200 mm, loads from 450 to 2000 kg. Spindles step from BT40-Φ150 up to BT50-Φ190 with rated torque from 48 to 143 N.m. The VMC-1270L is a representative heavy-cutting unit: 1200 x 700 x 600 mm travels, BT50-Φ155 spindle, 18.5 kW motor, 143 N.m torque, hybrid roller plus sliding guideways and a 240 L cooling tank. When your parts are long or your cuts are deep, this is the line.

T and VH Series: Rigidity, Speed and Smart Programming

The six-model T series is optimized for rigidity and stability, with 550 to 700 mm travels and a BBT40-Φ150 spindle, standard 10000 rpm belt type with 12000 rpm direct connection optional. The VMC-855T adds 36 m/min rapids on all axes for fast cycles on complex workpieces. The VH series shares those dimensions but adds a standard CAD/CAM programming system on the control, which suits shops that want conversational or on-machine programming without a separate CAM seat. Both hold ±0.003/300 mm positioning accuracy.

YBM Gantry-Type and Double-Magazine Models

Two special configurations round out the lineup. The YBM gantry-type vertical machining center (YBM-750, YBM-1050) handles long workpieces with a portal structure, HSK-A63 or BBT40 spindle, standard 15000 rpm electric spindle with 20000 rpm optional and 20 kW of power. The double tool magazine models, VMC-1268F and VMC-1380F, carry left 32T plus right 32T magazines for a total of 64 tools: fewer interruptions, less sorting, and a practical base for unmanned shifts on mould base work.

Matching Series to Your Parts

Start with part size and pick the smallest table that fits your largest part plus 20 to 30% clearance. Mould work points to the G series or a high-speed option; electronics and small precision parts run well on the T, VH or E lines; mixed job shop work fits the E series; heavy plates need the L series. Tell us your part drawing and batch size, and we will suggest the shortest path to the right model.
